A CNPS (NSIF) number is simply a number that identifies an individual who is registered under the Caisse Nationale de Prévoyance Sociale-CNPS (National Social Insurance Fund-NSIF).
What is the CNPS (NSIF)?
The CNPS is a body under the Ministry of Employment, and Social insurance in Cameroon tasked with managing the payment of various allowances provided by Social and Family welfare.
A vital function of CNPS (NSIF) is to ensure that every natural person or corporate body employing one or more workers subject to the Labour Code shall be bound to become affiliated to the National Social Insurance Fund (NSIF).
So many employers in Cameroon are good at cutting the CNPS tax from their employees but fail to register these employees to the CNPS (NSIF) system. This article aims to guide employees in getting a CNPS (NSIF) number and enjoying the benefits.
How to Get a CNPS Number in Cameroon
This article will look at how to get a CNPS (NSIF) in Cameroon. These steps will be looked at below:
Step 1: Go to the CNPS Website
Step 2: Click on the Online Services tab (Service en Ligne).
Step 3: Now click on Imprimes
Step 4: Scroll down to form number 31 (Demande d'immatriculation Assuré (e)). Click and Download this form.
Step 5: Also click and download form number 6 (Avis d'embauche d'un travailleur de cessation d'emploi d'un travailleur). This form must be filled, signed by the applicant and employer. This form must also be stamped too.
After filling the forms mentioned above, attach the following documents listed below:
- A handwritten birth certificate obtains from any Council and is signed by the Mayor. Ensure that CNPS is written at the top of the form.
- Make a photocopy of your national ID card with CNPS written at the top. This photocopy must be signed by the police.
- Get an attestation of account from an accredited financial institution or a filled MoMo form from the CNPS website (form number 25 "declaration sure l'honneur").
- Next, scan the handwritten birth certificate signed at the council and the filled form number 31 (Demande d'immatriculation Assuré (e)) in picture format (jpeg).
