How to Reverse MoMo Transaction to a Wrong Number with MTN Cameroon
Over the years, it has been a daunting task for users of the MTN Mobile money platform in Cameroon to reverse their MoMo transactions when they mistakenly sent money to a wrong number.
Why? Because the procedures to reverse the transactions were quite challenging. For example:
- When you made a mistake, you are to call customer service (8787 or 7123) to kindly help you cancel the transaction, and sometimes it takes a lot of work to get them because the lines are busy. Most times, before you get to them, the money has already been withdrawn.
- If you finally get through to customer service, they will help you freeze the money, but you were required to bring an official document from the Police that permits MTN to reverse the transaction and hand over your money.
- Getting the document from the Police as well as completing the process at the office of MTN is challenging as most times there is a long queue.
- Another challenge is the sim card with the problem needs to be registered in your name. If not, "Oh boy."
Thanks to this new feature by MTN Cameroon, you can reverse MoMo transactions to a wrong number in the comfort of your home by dialing a USSD code.
