How to Apply for Pension Allowance in Cameroon (Procedure & Requirements)

So many Cameroonians, after retirement, face challenges on how to apply for their pension allowance. This article aims to guide retirees on how to apply for their pension allowance via CNPS (NSIF) and enjoy the benefits. 

What is a Pension Allowance?

A pension is a retirement fund for an employee paid by the employer, employee, or both, with the employer usually covering the largest percentage of contributions. When the employee retires, she’s paid in an annuity calculated by the terms of the pension. Pension funds are far less common than they used to be, with labor unions and public employees making up the vast majority of pension holders.

What is the CNPS (NSIF)?

The CNPS is a body under the Ministry of Employment, and Social insurance in Cameroon tasked with managing the payment of various allowances provided by Social and Family welfare. 

A vital function of  CNPS (NSIF) is to ensure that every natural person or corporate body employing one or more workers subject to the Labour Code shall be bound to become affiliated to the National Social Insurance Fund (NSIF).

In this article, we will look at how to apply for Pension Allowance in Cameroon. These steps will be looked at below: 

Step 1: Go to the CNPS Website

Step 2: Click on the Online Services tab (Service en Ligne).

Step 3: Now click on Imprimes

Step 4:  Scroll down to form number 30 (Demande de pension). Click and Download this form.

Step 5: Also download the form cessation/engagement form(Avis d’embauche d’un travailleur de cessation d’emploi d’un travailleur).

How to Apply for Pension Allowance in Cameroon  

 After filling the forms as mentioned above, attach the following documents listed below:

  • Your retirement decision from your employer.
  • Certificate of service from all past and present employers.
NB: 
  • Any worker who had retired before 2012 must attach 10 payslips, i.e., two for each year (for the last five years).
  • It is vital to note that no CNPS document should carry a fiscal or communal stamp.
